Water is a basic human need. Thus, access to safe, clean drinking water is a human right. However, in the Philippines, *out of 101 million Filipinos, nine million rely on unimproved, unsafe and unsustainable water sources and 19 million lack access to improved sanitation. – *source: water.org
We, together with our owning company Discovery World Corporation and managing company Discovery Hospitality Corporation, believe that it is our social responsibility to reach out to less fortunate communities in the surrounding areas where our properties are located. Hence, we partnered with Waves for Water, a non-profit organization, who share the same advocacy as we have.
In March 2018, our team, together with Waves for Water, visited the Tagbanua Community in Sitio Camanga, Barangay Tara, Coron, Palawan. There we distributed 60 buckets with filters to 65 households comprising of a population of 280 individuals. Watch the video for the full details of the Together For Water project.
