One of the eco-friendly activities in Club Paradise Palawan’s sustainability program called “Ecoconserve” is producing its very own fresh herbs and vegetables. The luxury resort in Coron practices sustainable farming and has a green garden located at Taranuman Farm.
Just last January 2019, Brigada Taranuman, a series of farming-related activities took place where employees of Club Paradise Palawan actively participated. To kick things off, awareness and actual application of organic farming practices were communicated to all participants. The Green Thumb Task Force were in charge of planting two varieties of sunflowers — giant and dwarf sunflower seeds. To make sure the greens in the farm will grow in good condition, the whole process of creating organic probiotics fertilizer and organic pesticide were demonstrated to all employees for intensive learning.
There are a number of ways to recycle, reuse and repurpose plastic. In Club Paradise Palawan, the Ecoconserve Warriors thought of repurposing plastic condiment containers as hanging plant pots.
A total of 2.4 kilograms of red leaves and 2.9 kilograms of green leaves were harvested in the Taranuman Farm, and were ready to be served to the resort’s guests. The private farm enables the resort’s Firefish Restaurant and Lounge to serve delightful international and home-grown cooking using a number of sustainable ingredients. Guests can now relish farm-to-table dishes.
