Recently held at the largest international travel trade fair, ITB (Internationale Tourismus B&ouml;rse) Berlin is the 2022 Green Destinations Story Awards. The online ceremony celebrated the most outstanding Good Practice Stories of the Green Destinations 2021 Top 100 list.
Under the Environment and Climate category, six destinations were chosen as finalist by the jury at Green Destinations. These include Gocta &ndash; Kuelap Amazonas in Peru, Discovery Coron in the Philippines, Tartu in Estonia, Tibau do Sul in Brazile, Margaret River in Australia and Terres de L&rsquo;ebre in Spain. The only Philippine property in the 100 Green Destination Top 100 list, Discovery Coron received the 2nd place, with Margaret River taking the 3rd place and Terres de L&rsquo;ebre at the 1st place.

The journey to Discovery Coron begins with a boat ride across the Pangawaran River. This river is lined with lush mangroves on both sides which provide a rich habitat for fresh water fish and mud crabs. During the early mornings, guests are invited to kayak along the river to experience the cool fog enveloping the mangrove branches. At dusk, they can marvel at the fireflies lighting up the mangroves like twinkling Christmas lights.
