We’re thrilled to share this global recognition with all of you! Club Paradise Palawan is a finalist in the Best of Asia-Pacific category at the 2020 Sustainable Destination Awards!
The Sustainable Destination Awards is organized by Green Destinations, a non-profit foundation for sustainable tourism, which leads a global partnership among expert organizations, companies, and academic institutions. They developed an assessment and reporting system to assess current tourism policy, management and sustainability performance on relevant sustainability themes.
The Green Destinations Assessment and Certification Program is a collaborative initiative of Green Destinations, the European Centre for Eco and Agro Tourism (ECEAT) and the Coastal & Marine Union (EUCC). The system consists of the Green Destinations Standard which is a collection of criteria to assess sustainable destination management and policy and the Green Destinations Database which is a collection of sustainability and quality performance indicators fed by a variety of third-party data sources.
Environmental sustainability has always been an integral part of what we stand for. Back in the day, one of the projects of our EcoConserve program was to build our own farm and that came to life last October 2018. Organic farming was made possible at Taranuman — a Cuyonon term meaning farm. In building this green garden, we used recycled materials like wood scraps, plastic bottles and pipes. Since then, we’ve grown organic lettuce, okra, cucumber, cabbage and fresh herbs for guests to enjoy.
